I know this isn't quilting but I was too tired last night to prep some more handwork. And didn't get to it before that.
The copyright date on the back of the pattern is 1998. I'm pretty sure I started it that year. There are 5 old world Santas on this pattern.
If you click on the picture, you will see that it is 28 count linen! My eyes were 13 years younger when I started on it. I have one other Santa that you can't see finished. So two more Santas and the rest of the border. Told Dear Hubby that if I EVER finished it, that I would spend the money to have it professionally framed. It deserves it after all this time in a hoop!
I'll be back later. If you are new to the Christmas Quilt Along, go to the 2011 CQAL tab at the top. Sign up on Mr. Linky and join us today for a day of getting your Christmas quilting done long before Christmas Eve! You will receive the third block in a series to make the Christmas quilt shown on the CQAL tab.
Blessings, Cathi

That is a beautiful pattern, and it looks as if you did a good amount of work on it. I need to use a good light now when I do handwork - makes it so much easier.
Hope you have a successful day.
Hey I made that x-stitch pattern a long time ago. teehee! It definitely deserves your time and attention. Have a great day.
Hope you get some sales. Have a wonderful day. Hugs
I too hope you get some sales....love the book.
Such a beautiful pattern! I too, have a couple of projects that date back to the 90's.....80's maybe!
That's a great pattern. It will look wonderful in a frame rather than a hoop.
I think I have the book with that pattern as well -- but never started it. My recommendation for older eyes: lots of light + MagEyes. Even though I have bifocals, they aren't strong enough for really close work. (I'm working on a project on 40-count linen, with one strand of silk floss over 2 threads). I also have a big magnifying glass with light around it that I use as well. You're doing some great work. I hope you can finish it!
Know what you mean about the eyes and 28 ct. linen. I have suffered through that by using a magnifier that hangs from the neck and rests on the chest. I would love to have one of those Ott lights with the magnifier.
I was in Ohio for the day yesterday checking out a college. Can I still get the pattern?
Well, best laid plans. I'm glad I thought ahead and did a little on Wednesday. Yesterday was consumed with the local rare and exotic sale. We did come home with two trios of Buff Orpington chickens, a trio of Narragansett turkeys, a pair of Partridge Wyandotte Bantam chickens and three little chicks (pets for the children) unsexed and not breed specific. Well not much about quilting, but hope to put in more time on my Christmas Cactus table runners and post some pictures on my blog: http://heidibyhand.blogspot.com
