Since I have baby quilts on my horizon, I thought I would work on the baby quilt that The Married One volunteered me for last year.

Yesterday was the perfect day to do a little sewing ..... cold, rain-y and yucky outside.  I was so close to finishing the top but I ran out of the green thread I was using for appliquing the leaves and stems.

Maybe soon ...... then on to my own!

Just call me Grandma . . . . .

Remember when the Married One volunteered me for this . . . . .

And then I had to make this for a new grand-niece 18 months ago . . . . .

And another one for my Dear Hubby's cousin's new baby . . . . .

and the beginnings of this - another volunteer by the Married One . . . . .

Well, it's finally my turn !!!   The Married One told me that I am FINALLY going to be a grandma, a granny, a memaw, a mimi or the one we chose - MaMa.  They have been married for 8 years now (almost to the day) and I have waited VERY patiently.  No, really, I have!

My daughter is very Amy Butler-esque and I am not so it should be interesting to see how many homespuns I can sneak into the first of what I hope is many baby quilts that will stay in the family!

I took a week off to re-coup from the busy show schedule.  Not that I didn't do anything but I certainly did have a relaxing week.

No sewing this past weekend but I did manage to do some work in the Wool Barn!

My new dye station!

Doors still to be added to the open cabinet.  Walls will be painted when all of the drywall is up.  My best guess is in August.  In the meantime, I sure am enjoying the space.

Let there be light! . . . . .

Yes, the Wool Barn has light . . . . .

And air conditioning . . . . .

and even some drywall . . . . .

And a big Happy Birthday shout-out to The Wild One who turns 30-something today.

Happy birthday, my baby!!

I made it! . . . . .

I made it through 6 weeks of loading the van, traveling, dying wool in-between, cutting kits, ordering supplies and meeting some of the nicest people I know.

From Lancaster (South Carolina) to Charleston to Charlotte to Winston-Salem to Sumter and finally Hilton Head this past weekend.

Thanks to all of my customers and friends for supporting me.  And a BIG thank you to Dear Hubby and my kids for keeping the "home fires burning" while I was on the road.

So what do I do now?

I drink a cup of joe while I wait for the electrician.

Yes, the Wool Barn remodeling is back in full swing!  The electrician is coming any minute now to add the rest of the outlets, put up "real" lighting, and most importantly, add an outlet for the window a/c.  Been a little toasty in there in the afternoons.

As soon as the electrician is finished, Dear Hubby can start on insulation and drywall.  Good thing he is on spring break this week!
