Aaaawwww ..... Retreating, here I come . . . . .

"I'm old, Gandalf. I know I don't look it, but I'm beginning to feel it in my heart. I feel... thin. Sort of stretched, like... butter scraped over too much bread. I need a holiday. A very long holiday . . . . ."
Bilbo Baggins

That pretty much sums it up. Although I won't be taking a LONG holiday, I am going to take a holiday.  I leave this morning for the mountains of West Virginia to go on a retreat sponsored by the Woolen Willow chicks ..... the owners/sisters that also produce the Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.

I am taking plenty of UFO's so I will be ready if/when the mood strikes me to do one of them.  I am taking NOTHING business related ........ just me and my sewing machine humming along . . . . . with about 45 other kindred spirits ..... at a lodge ...... in a state park ..... in the mountains.  Sounds heavenly ..... will let you know when I get back!

Woolen Willow has several retreats throughout the year.  Go here for their retreat webpage.

Gradations . . . . .

Anyone that has visited my booth will know that I have sold bundles of gradations since the first year.

I have finally come up with a way to display them on the website that I like so all of you can see them.

How cool does that look?!

Each bundle contains 6 shades of one color or "recipe".  There are 11 different colorways making 66 different swatches of wool - all scanned in.  Add in a little computer magic of cutting and pasting and tada!!

They have a website page all to themselves ...... just click here

They are available in two sizes now ....
the original grouping of Fat 1/16 (each one about 8" x 12") for $30.00
and in a new size called Baby Bundles (each one about 6" x 8") for $12.00

And on a side note, while I was editing the website, I added the Vine Rolls on the Hand-dyed Wool page!

***I think my website server didn't have it's morning coffee because the pages aren't loading right today.  It worked fine yesterday.  I'm sure it's just a temporary glitch ...... keep trying! ***

Vine Rolls . . . . .

Did you ever want to put a wool vine in your border without so much piecing or splicing?  Or you just can't the vine to 'flow' right with shorter pieces?  Introducing Vine Rolls ......

Each Vine Roll contains 4 different green strips (Cedar, Primitive Green, Pine Tree and Wintergreen).  Each strip is approximately 2" wide x 50" long.  That's a lot of vines and a lot of leaves.  Each Roll is $12.00.

Vine Rolls will make their debut at the Anderson Area Quilt Show this weekend.  It is being held at the Westside Community Center, 1100 W. Franklin Street, Anderson, South Carolina.

The show runs Friday (tomorrow) and Saturday from 9 to 5 both days.

As well as you should know me by now, it's not up on the website yet.  LOL And if you just can't wait for me to get it up there and you really need one soon, just email me.  We can work something out.
