And then I had to make this for a new grand-niece 18 months ago . . . . .
And another one for my Dear Hubby's cousin's new baby . . . . .
and the beginnings of this - another volunteer by the Married One . . . . .
Well, it's finally my turn !!! The Married One told me that I am FINALLY going to be a grandma, a granny, a memaw, a mimi or the one we chose - MaMa. They have been married for 8 years now (almost to the day) and I have waited VERY patiently. No, really, I have!
My daughter is very Amy Butler-esque and I am not so it should be interesting to see how many homespuns I can sneak into the first of what I hope is many baby quilts that will stay in the family!

I know you have to be very excited about the news. I have seen some prim style baby quilts in quilt books but most young parents would not want that style. But you could make one just like you would want and keep it at your house for when baby comes over. And make Mom's kind for their house.
Well congratulations....this is just great news! It's going to be the most wonderful feeling when you see that wee one.

Congratulations - yes, make two - you now you want to. One prim for your house and one modern for her house.
Congrats! Can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm pretty sure that baby will need a couple of quilts!
Yahoo!! You must be Over the MOON!! I am patiently WAITING too...but guess they should be married first...but you know...it wouldn't matter!! haha How exciting for you!! And love the name... "Mama" has a VERY nice ring to it!!

Wow....it is so much fun being a grandma.....making quilts for your own grandchildren is the best...
Very exciting and what great quilts you have made for some special people.
Great news!! What joy this baby will bring into your life! And I can't wait to be a Faux Aunt!!
Whoohoo. I bet you're absolutely thrilled. How many quilts will you get made for the baby before it arrives I wonder?
Woohooooooo...congratulations! I just finished, all except the binding, a quilt for my little Toby that is all plaids, many from my dad's shirts.
Congratulations!! Even in an AB quilt, you can sneak in a homespun, maybe. Can't wait to see what's first.
Congrads, you lucky girl.
