Cheryl's Angel . . . . .

As the phone call came in telling us to hurry to Michigan, I was pin-basting this quilt.

It was a quilt Cheryl had started probably 10 years ago.  I knew she hadn't finished it so I bugged her for months to mail it to me.  She finally sent it to me in the middle of October along with another quilt top that she had started.

She wasn't a quilter really but a sewer and a scrapbooker and a crafter.  She had pieced the top, wonder undered the applique pieces and started the machine applique.  I had hoped to finish it and send it to her by Christmas.

I did manage to finish it this week.  On to the other one next and both into the mail to her husband and kids.  I just wish she could have seen it finished.

Blessings, Cathi

I'm sure she can see it. And I'm also sure that she's so grateful to have you to finish what she started. I can almost see her smiling down on you! :0)

These 2 quilts must be so difficult to work on, but I'm sure Cheryl's husband and kids will appreciate having them.

Cathi, that is just special beyond words. I know her husband and kids will be so touched that you finished it and then gave the quilt back to them.

I have a flower basket quilt that my mom never finished. I had helped her pick out the fabrics and patterns and she would share with me each block she finished. I know how much she loved this project and the enjoyment it gave her. I get it out now and then thinking I will finish it for her, but its hard to sew with tears in your eyes.
