You might remember that about a month ago Sue and I asked you all
to fill in a survey about the Christmas QAL and the future. Thanks
to all of you who filled it in. Thanks too for the lovely comments
and compliments you included. As a result of the survey we have decided that we will be
running it between February and November again, on the second Saturday
of each month just as we have done this year, but there are some important
changes.
One of the questions we asked was if anyone would be
prepared to act as a guest host for one of the days, and about 12 of you were
foolish brave enough to put your hands up. So, now, we need to know who
you were. If you would like to host one day, please email Sue at
sue.abrey@gmail.com with your preferred
month. The other difference is that instead of offering a block
of the month pattern, next year we will be doing a mystery quilt instead.
As this year, it will be free, but we will post the instructions on our
blog instead of sending them by email. That way, if you can’t join
us one month, the instructions will still be available.
I'll be back later this morning with more news and updates. Off to breakfast now (and half of you are fixing lunch or starting your afternoon nap!).

Allthough I was not one of the ladies who replied,(missed out on it) I just want you to know that I am in. I look forward to be joining the CQAL next year!
Well I've been here for hours, come on you lot, time you were all up!
We have stormy weather here and it woke me up early. Sort of a monsoon going on. Our lot is on a small lake. We may need a boat before the day is over. Well, maybe that is a slight exaggeration but the prediction is for 6 to 8 inches of rain over a few days. I hope that is way more of a prediction than we will receive.
I started my Quilt-a-long project yesterday evening as it is applique. No way I will be able to finish it this weekend but I hope to make some good progress.
The plans for next year sound good.
I'm up and ready to begin, but don't have my post up yet. A mystery quilt sounds like fun. I'll enjoy that. I think I said "maybe" to the hosting question. If you need me I'll be happy to host.
Good morning! Glad folks are into the Christmas spirit! Thanks for hosting, Cathi! I was late to the gate this year so am with you all in spirit and will choose to only work on Christmas projects today. I am very interested in joining the next Christmas Quilt Along and particularly like the idea of a mystery quilt! Cheers!
Hard to believe the year is nearly up, yet here it is.
Cathi, I didn't get to join along this past year but would love to join in for 2012. Glad it is going to be via posting because I work Saturdays and cannot always be off the second (although I do write the work schedules at the shop so...just maybe!).
What are the hosting responsibilities? Maybe I would volunteer.
I am just pulling out my things. I had company - daughter and grandsons - to go apple picking. I will put up a post in a minute. I was one who put up their hand - I can fill in after those who have special requests.
Silly me I forgot to say I'd love to host a month.
