I've been trying! . . . . .

I've been trying to carve out some time to post about my trip to the mountains of West Virginia but I've been just so busy with dyeing wool and keeping Sweet Baby Girl!  I didn't even get a chance to take the sewing machine out of the car until Monday .... a week after I got back!!

Suffice it to say, we had a blast!  I finished/started 5 projects .... stayed up much too late and got up much too early.  So it wasn't a restful weekend but it was a much needed weekend.  I will definitely be back!!  There were 45 of us there ....... rughookers and quilters and some that were both.

The Woolen Willow sisters (and their parents) were great!  We even had a visit from a new quilt designer that made her first public appearance ....... Ms. Beverly Bouchet (aka sister Sally).

The setting couldn't have been better (except maybe a little warmer in the morning LOL) .....

and like I said, I did quite a bit of work ......

A Kim Diehl freebie .. that just needs the wool touches
A secret baby quilt project that just needs layering, quilting and binding.
A Cheri Payne freebie from her blog last year.  Sorry don't remember which month it was.
And another Cheri freebie from last month.  Mine's not as scrappy as hers  and I still want to add some more wool applique.
And there is a 5th project which is just sections of pieces so no picture.  I hope I can find time soon to do the handwork and quilt them but the dye pots are calling ....... again!

Hope you can join us on one of the retreats The Woolen Willow has .......

Blessings, Cathi

Sounds like a piece-ful retreat, I love the name Woolen Willow. You were certainly productive; well done! I know all about keeping little ones and the time that takes... but I wouldn't want to have it any other way! ;)

I am jealous that you got to go. I have stopped at the Woolen Willow three times on our way to Ohio. I saw that they were having a retreat but my impression was that it was for rug hooking. I have seen some pictures of the retreat and saw that people were doing all sorts of things. Were there classes given?

Glad you are getting lots of 'love time' in with your grand baby - that's the most important thing.
Your trip to WV looks wonderful.
Blessings,
Karen
