Along with a few others in blogland, I am working on "Let It Snow" by Farmhouse Threads.
From Farmhouse Threads website |
I am going to try and finish up the machine sewing today as part of Rudy Day. (See my Christmas blog for more info). I have another quilt show that I will be a vendor on the second Saturday AGAIN next month during the Christmas Quilt Along. If I can get the machine work finished today, I can kind of sort of participate by doing the handwork on this one during the CQAL.
What I have finished so far |
What I didn't mention on the Christmas blog was the little faux pas I made. I use the Flying Geese x 4 ruler by Lazy Girl Designs to make my flying geese. No waste and just about perfect every time. While I was cutting the squares I needed to make the flying geese, I was watching the movie, My Cousin Vinny. Big mistake. So busy laughing that I didn't notice that I cut the squares backwards.
The larger squares should have been cut from the variety of prints and the smaller squares should have been the darker green. Not to worry . . . . I have a plan.
Here's a hint . . . .
Since they are already cut, maybe it won't take too long to make a small table topper out of my little mistake. But is it really a mistake ......
Blessings, Cathi

Not a mistake at all! An opportunity to design and make something new. Your snowmen are going to be very cute.
You are going to love this little quilt!! I made him last year and he looked so sweet hanging on the wall!! He is my favourite Christmas quilt so far!
Take care!

I bought a kit for this nearly two years ago and it has just languished. Seeing it popping up is making me guilty enough to pull it out and work on it during the upcoming July 4 weekend. It will be my own Christmas in July project. Thanks for sharing yours!
Love that quilt.
Making lemonade out of lemons. We all do it. lol
I've got this quilt finished with exception of faces. I went looking yesterday for snaps at Hobby Lobby for the smiles...no luck on black so it keeps. I quilted mine all over with a snow design and used Fruitcake line just like Karen (got the idea from her). I wanted to make my flying geese four at a time but found that the finished geese were an odd size so ditched the ruler and followed her directions.
What sizes did you cut for the four at a time? Thanks!!!
Now I know what Rudy day is and a nice idea. I popped over to your Christmas blog for a minute or two also. I am not a Christmas nut but it must be very nice for you to have found others like you.
What a fun wall hanging....
I really love this quilt. I've seen it on severral blogs, and it is on my "to-do" list, I just have to buy the pattern and I'll be off!
This one is on my list as well. Good luck with your next show.
This wallhanging is so cute, I saw him a few months ago and would like to make one, thanks for the link. Your oops will now be a matching tabletopper.
Thanks for telling us where to find the snowman pattern. I like it so much I rushed right over and bought one for myself. I also bought the snowman candle mat. I'm going to make some of them for mug rugs for Christmas gifts.
