Myrtle Beach, SC . . . . .

Today is bittersweet . . .

It's my birthday and I am in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a quilt show by myself.  Dear Hubby was supposed to meet me here but the show is so abysmally lacking in customers and sales that I can't afford the gas for him to come down or to stay another night at the hotel.

On the plus side, I will be home in my own bed tonight with my sweetie by my side.  If he had come down, this would have been the view he would see from our hotel room.

Not exactly an ocean view unless you count over the rooftops of the neighboring condos but I can still see it.

If I look straight out my window, this is what I see .....  headed North.

Through the back of my booth, I can see Julie of Auntie Ju's - my competitor and my friend.

This morning, Julie, her sister Peggy, Brenda and Fred Arrowood of Schoolhouse Quilts, brought a donut with a candle on it.  Fred sang Happy Birthday - very well I may add!  Karen Comstock of Quiltricks brought my all-time favorite candy for a birthday gift - Twizzlers!

It would have been nice for Dear Hubby to have been here for my special day and for me to have a million dollars in sales but it wasn't to be.

I have a lot more shows this year and hopefully a lot more birthdays to celebrate.  I just have to be smarter about the shows I choose!

Blessings, Cathi

Happy Birthday Cathi! I wanted to come this weekend but the weather turned off so cold that I decided against it. I'm sorry you didn't have a good crowd. Maybe I can just order something via the mail from you?!?!

Have a safe drive home - I hope to get to see you later. Are you going to be in Sumter SC this year?

Well, drat! Are you at or were at the Myrtle Beach Quilting Party? Seems to me I remember it being held each year in January. I never got to attend while I lived in South Carolina. Too bad sales are not good. Is no one spending money or are they just not in a wool mood?
Happy Birthday. Your birthday is not much after mine so we are almost birthday buddies.

Bummer! It could have been a romantic weekend. Hubby gets to watch football instead. Safe travels and hope you have a nice late bday.

Aw, I'm so sorry Cathi. Happy belated Birthday!! I'm sorry the show was a bust for you. I know that's aggravating for the time, energy, and money you put into them.

Hoping for much better shows ahead!
