Can you say "Yaaaaay!"?  Dear Hubby hasn't said it yet but if I bribe him with a deadline of "Hey, a bowl game is on!", we'll have it done in no time!

Trying to get in a winter-y mood .....

The projected weather report for our area of South Carolina on Christmas Day is ....

What !!!??

Today is a dark, dreary, 100% chance of rain day...... perfect for sitting inside and stitching!

So to try and dream of a white Christmas and a cooler January/February, I am working on a few samples for the booth.  Our first show of 2016 is January 8th and 9th in Sanford, North Carolina.  It will be here sooner than I think!

The weather outside is .....

..... not frightful ....

I'm not sure how I feel about having my coffee on the front porch starting the third week of December wearing a t-shirt and jeans.  Even the doors and windows are open to get a little fresh air.  It's supposed to be in the 70's again today.  Our average should be 55°.  Don't get me wrong ..... I love this weather but it worries me some when there is so much topsy turvy weather throughout the country.

Either way, it is PERFECT weather for dyeing wool so I guess that will be on the agenda until the weather turns again.

I'm not even .....

gonna apologize for my laziness on this blog! If I would get off my wallet and buy a bigger, better smart phone so I could post here easily from the phone, I would.  But I work hard for my money and I'm going to keep it as long as I can! LOL  My phone isn't broken ..... so why "fix" it, right?

We are headed out to the final show of the year tomorrow morning.  We've had a lot of this lately ......

which makes it hard to load the trailer but it still must be done.

The show this weekend is in N. Augusta, South Carolina at the Riverview Park Activities Center, 100 Riverview Park Road in N. Augusta.

The show is open on Friday, Nov. 6th from 10 - 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7th from 9 - 4.

We will be bringing the newly released Valdani wool threads.  They are available in two sizes ..... #8 and #15 (yup, #15).  There are limited colors right now.  As soon as I am back home from the show, I will get them up on the website.

Well, we finally did it .....

We have created a bigger, better website!  It's a little different from the old one ..... a little sleeker ..... much more functional.  

We are able to take credit cards as well as Paypal.  You can purchase gift certificates in any amount and redeem them as well (not that you would buy yourself a gift certificate but you never know!)

You can pick an over-dyed wool color, pick a size and pick a texture to overdye all right in one spot. The patterns and several of the kits are on there.  All the Valdani Perle Cotton and Aurifil Wool threads that I carry are on there.

To celebrate this event, we are offering FREE SHIPPING during the month of September to anywhere in the lower 48! That's right ..... FREE!

It's hot .... Hot ..... HOT .....

I headed out to work at 5:30 this morning.

It's going to be another scorcher here in the Carolinas ...... a high of 98° today.  The next 10 days is forecast for 95° and above.  I hope I can get some wool dyeing done in the wee hours of the morning for the next few days.  

I really don't like to sweat!

Lookie at what's new ...... !

This is my first attempt at hand-dyeing velvet.

The colors are richer than showing in the photo.  But it was fun to do.  A little more practice and a little tweaking ...... I think these will be added to the booth and the website sometime this summer.

It seems like ......

...... the only time I have to post lately ..... heck, this whole year ...... is when I am on my way to a show.  That's where I am again, on the road.  This time to Chantilly, VA for the Quilters Unlimited 42nd annual show.  This what I am doing while enjoying the fact that Dear Hubby is driving this year instead of me.

Putting together all the charm packs, Penny Stacks, Big Scrap Stacks that I had cut in the last few days but didn't have time to assemble.

The show runs tomorrow (Friday, May 29th) from 10 - 6, Saturday from 10 - 5 and Sunday from 10 - 4 at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA.  We're in Booth 107 so come by and visit!

Roanoke, Virginia .....

I don't know how we managed it but somehow we fit a double (10' x 20') booth into a single (10' x 10') space.

But we did it!  We are at the Star Quilters Quilt Show at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia today and tomorrow.  The show is from 9 - 6 today (Friday, May 1st and 9 - 5 tomorrow (Saturday, May 2nd).  Hope to see you!

Heart of the Triad Quilt Show .....

I am in Greensboro this weekend for the Heart of the Triad quilt show. The rain almost got the better of me as I was loading the trailer but I made it through. 

After all was said and done, the booth is ready for customers!

The show is located at the C3 Church at 300 Hwy 68 South in Greensboro, NC right across from the Piedmont Airport.  Show is from 9 - 6 today (Friday) and 9 - 5 tomorrow.  Some beautiful, beautiful quilts.

Missing my Employee of the Month .......

Sweet Pea usually stays with me two days a week and helps out in the Wool Barn.

This week she isn't because tomorrow morning, I am headed to Savannah, GA for the Quiltfest Destination Savannah show.  It will run from Thursday through Sunday (10 - 6 on Thurs, Fri., Sat. and 11 - 4 on Sunday) at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.  I'll be in booth #308 ....... come see me!!

A little bit of PERMANENT .....

Shakerwood Woolens is happy to announce that we have a little "shop" inside the Shoppes at River's Edge antique mall in Rock Hill!!

We have so many that ask us if they can come to the house to shop.  This is our solution!

The Shoppes at River's Edge is located on the north side of Rock Hill, SC at exit 82 (82C if you are heading south and 82A if you are heading north) off of I-77.

Besides my wool, they have over 30 booths chock full of antiques, junkin' finds, Annie Sloan Chalk Paints, yard flags, jewelry and other fun things.  We have furnished 3 rooms in our house with furniture from the Shoppes at River's Edge and lots of other cool finds.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the Stitch and Frame (the best cross-stitch shop in the Carolinas) is just a mile down the road!

I will be continually adding to my "shop" weekly.  Besides the wool, there are discontinues booth samples and other little goodies along the way.
